The pineapple jalapeño wontons were enough to make me want to move to Folly Beach. And the strawberry bubbles drink was heavenly. I've never seen so many drink and beer selections at a local bar. This special little place has so many things going for it. To tops things off, Meagan the bartender was super friendly and helpful in making recommendations for our vacation. We can't wait to return!

The food is amazing. They spice it up just the way I like it. Although there is not a full bar, they make great cocktails their own way and they are delicious. Always great service and good music playing.

Jack of Cups is like nothing else on the island and that is to their credit! It's always full of locals but if you're an out-of-towner I still highly recommend it! The cozy atmosphere invites conversation with your neighbor, so it's a great place to go and chat with Folly-ites to get a real feel for the island. Leslie, Nick, and Megan make an amazing team. Nick and Leslie can cook up a storm, offering some eclectic foodie-type dishes that are as nice to your taste buds as they are to your wallet. And Megan has an absolutely unparalleled knowledge of beer. She keeps track of the types of beers you prefer and is able to offer thoughtful selections in accord with your tastes (she literally knows what I like more than I do!) Best of all... They turn Jeopardy on With The Volume (but not too loud)! It's so much fun have a friendly competition with the other smarty-pants on the island. All in all, a great place to go! It's low-key, everyone is friendly there, and the beer selection is one of the best around (both Folly AND James Island!).

Good people. Go. Really nice people and decent beer list. Had the foothills double IPA and wontons. Great convo and cool vibe. Don't expect the bs tourist stop, more local than anything.

The food is fabulous! Perfect location to have dinner or a couple of drinks and then stroll right down the street for a walk on the beach. (Perfect for date night!) They also have a great backyard area with an outdoor bar and stage that makes you feel like you are at an intimate, outdoor get-together. Can't wait to visit again!

Great new place in Folly for food and drinks. The owners are wonderful and treat you like family. A fantastic craft beer selection and the food menu is creative and delicious . Give it a try, you won't be sorry.

I am so thankful that we listened to our friend who lives out on Folly and tried this place. The food is seriously on point. We had the ricotta dumplings, red curry mac, and grilled cheese#2. Everything was so flavorful and delicious. It's a small little spot with a lot of character. Leslie was so nice and attentive! We will definitely be back very soon.

Cool comfortable little saloon with really knowledgeable and affable bar staff. They have about eight rotating taps that are of high quality and a good bottle list. If you are in the Folly Beach area, stop in, you will be glad you did.

The place might be small, but the food was amazing! Hard to believe a simple grilled cheese can be elevated to such a level. We had the mozzarella and basil as well as the turkey, jalapeno and cream cheese. And the soup was the best I've ever had. We will definately be back!

Oh how I am torn to write a review for this little place. While they deserve great kudos for their amazing food I also selfishly want to keep them a secret so I will be assured a seat in their small establishment. But, alas, here I am. This place is amazing. They use really fresh ingredients and seem to have an Indian (curry) spin going on while also throwing in influences from wherever they damn well please. Tonight my bf had the Japanese steamed buns with a basil gravy of some sort with veggies. It was called "biscuits and gravy." He loved it. I had curry something or other that I can't pronounce and it was amazing. We brought my friend to join us as I have been telling her this is my new favorite restaurant since moving to town and she being a foodie was also very impressed. This is truly a find that could go toe to toe with any fine eatery in the city of Charleston... instead it's tucked away on Folly- how lucky is that? They have a huge beer list and also make fun cocktails too. It's mostly vegetarian with a meat dish here and there. It's truly a must-try; you'll probably be back again and again. 2 thumbs up for this under the radar place that I like to call my new favorite restaurant.

I love this place. Excellent (mostly) vegetarian fare with a flavor profile atypical of a beach bar. Staff is super friendly and beers are great. Plus they watch Jeapordy every night. Oh, and they are tolerant of the inebriated.

Jack of Cups?!? I'm pretty sure they should change their name to "King of Cups Saloon"! Honestly, my expectations were low. Very similar to walking into any Tyler Perry movie. But boy was this place awesome! They have a very impressive beer list and the food is phenomenal. The menu is predominantly vegetarian and vegan (I don't know the difference) but don't let that sway you! Every dish had so much flavor and wonderfully priced. I think I found my new favorite spot on Folly Beach.

I completely fell in love with this place after a casual Thursday night dinner. The space is small, but the food is incredible and they have an impressive beer list. There is a strong Indian influence on the menu, and a lot of vegetarian options. I felt like the black bean nachos was quite possibly one of the best vegetarian dishes I have ever eaten. We were also blown away by the crab wontons and the pineapple & habanero wantons (though you might want to save those for desert, as its on the sweet side). Lastly, we had the special Pork Vindaloo which was also great and brought a good amount of heat. All this said, the staff/ownership combo of Leslie and Nick is really great and they take extra care to make you feel welcomed and at home. I can't wait to come back and try more food from their ever-changing menu!

I gave it a star because we did enjoy the jalepeno/pineapple wontons - otherwise this definitely was not our kind of place. We LOVE dives, but this didn't do it for us. It was poorly laid out and only has 2-3 small tables and a small bar. Very dark inside. There were no complaints in our group about the beers, but the mixed drinks (specials) were horrible. Very, very small menu of a few apps. Also, we went because they were advertising "Christmas in July" party with a band and games starting at 6:30. Advertisements said to dress in your best Christmas outift. There was even an advertisement on the front window. We showed up in red/green/white clothes. Not a single other person had anything Christmasy on - not even the staff. There was a small tree tucked in the corner. No other decorations, no band, no games. At 7:30 we finally left and got some decent drinks, food and ambiance elsewhere.

While I was in Folly Beach for a long weekend, I visited Jack of Cups on multiple occasions. I didn't try any of the food, but it didn't matter. This place is exactly the type of place I like. They cater to the Craft Beer crowd (which I am a part of), and like most places that do so, they have a slightly veiled arrogance about the type of clientele they want to serve. That isn't a knock on them at all. I appreciate that they would rather serve high quality beer to a more mature crowd and allow the frat-boy drunks to mosey on to other more fitting establishments. Outside of Wich Doctor this was my favorite spot in Folly. If I ever return, I will most definitely be making a stop or two here.

Came here with my vegetarian girlfriend on 4 of July. We always have a hard time finding places that offer good vegetarian selection but that was not a problem at Jack of Cups. Plenty of selection for meat eaters and vegetarians. Loved the arancini and pineapple Habenero wontons. Food was amazing. Staff was friendly and helpful. Cute little place.

There is definitely a new craft beer sheriff in Folly Beach! Located where the now defunct Folly Beach Brewing Company had been on Center Street, Jack of Cups Saloon is bringing the goods! I had been meaning to check out this joint since they opened a month or two ago, and luckily finally got my chance yesterday evening. Unfortunately, I had never made it out to Folly Beach Brewing Company (though I had always meant to), but I had heard some overall mixed reviews about that former enterprise. Given the small size of the joint and my bias given the aforementioned mixed reviews of its predecessor, I held admittedly low expectations as I walked through the front door. I figured the most I could hope for would be a couple of decent beers on draft. Boy, was I wrong! They were offering six beers on draft (including a Freehouse and Evil Twin (semi-local) offering) along with 30+ high quality bottles and cans to choose from (again with an emphasis on local brews--Westbrook, Holy City, and RJ Rockers were all represented). To say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement! For the non-beer drinkers, they have numerous wine and sparkling wine offerings, along with quirky signature cocktails. I do believe just about anyone would have no difficulties wetting their whistle here. In addition, per our friendly bartender, they will soon be offering happy hour specials. Extensive craft beer offering aside, Jack of Cups definitely gave off a homey, neighborhood bar type of vibe. The bartenders were super friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. They definitely seemed to enjoy what they were doing and made sure you were taken care of and enjoying yourself as well. Yes, the bar itself is on the small side. The bar top itself could probably handle about 10 people sidled up to it, and there were also two high top tables and a larger table in the back of the bar that offered seating for thirsty patrons. Furthermore, there are a couple of benches out front where you could sip on your beverage of choice, and I do believe you could hang out in the back courtyard as well though I could not investigate further as there was a wedding going on out there while I visited (how cool is that?!). So yes, the bar is small but I think the smaller size lends itself to the chill, welcoming vibe. This spot probably isn't for everyone, but for someone that enjoys high quality beer at reasonable prices combined with attentive customer service in a welcoming atmosphere, Jack of Cups is pretty much a home run. Also, let's not forget that this spot is just a couple of blocks from the beach which isn't too shabby.

This is a real find! My two friends and I ate there the other night, having received a recommendation by a bartender in Charleston. If you are in the area and looking for a place for great food, forget Charleston and get yourself to this very small, but amazing place! Don't let the small size and local bar ambiance surprise you as it does not define the caliber of food they serve, which will surpass your expectations with the complexity of flavors in their dishes. If you enjoy delicious food you will not be disappointed. In addition, the bartender Megan, is really helpful with recommendations and the chef, Leslie, is super talented. Hopefully we will see her and her partner Nick on the next Top Chef list!

We stopped in last night to have a few drinks. The beer menu and wine menu is very extensive and our bartender was super friendly and answered all of our questions. The food menu looked amazing but unfortunately we were full. We will be going back! I forgot to mention they have a free jukebox with a music selection just as large as their beer menu.

I'm all for new experiences and new places and this experience will stay with me for some time. This was truly unique for me because rarely do I partake in Indian cuisine nor am I big beer drinker. This place excels on both levels. To start my evening I ordered a nice dark ale out of the large, and I will repeat very vast selection of beers available. For me not being a big beer drinker this selection of beers was overwhelming but made picking my choice easy based on how the beers are defined in the menu. They were separated by wheats, darks, pale ales, sours and fruit enhanced beers. However marvelous this sounds to you beer enthusiast for me this establishments food was where my allegiance was bought. Despite this destination being a near 35 minute ride from my home they've earned my repeat business. I ordered three items off this mostly vegetarian menu. I started with the Somosa. They are essentially potato dumplings but here they are turned up a notch by the red curry sauce that accompanies the two piece order. The curry was a bit too much initially from a heat aspect but paired will with the dumplings this was a treat. The next item up was the the curry mac and cheese. This is what completely won me over because despite me being a country boy from Arkansas I do not like mac and cheese. I have only experienced two mac and cheese dishes I have ever enjoyed and this was the second. The red curry Alfredo based sauce was evenly dispersed across the pasta and the red cherry tomatoes that were throughout the dish only enhanced the taste. The greatest aspect of this dish however was the strangest ingredient I've ever encountered in a mac and cheese recipe. Throughout the dish were diced gerkins or bread and butter pickles. Never have I encountered this and honestly upon reading the description on the menu I was extremely hesitant about this dish based on this ingredient. I'm glad I tried this the sweetness of the pickle throughout created some kind of unique harmony with the spice of the red curry Alfredo sauce that truly had me craving for more of this dish. This is a must order item if you visit this establishment. To finish off my meal I had the highly recommended house favorite black bean nachos. I did not favor them however as much as everyone else did. It was the one aspect of my meal that led to a four star rating vs a five star one. The beans, curry, sour cream, and strangely apples blended together well with warm pita bread chips. What turned me off from this dish was the large amounts of onion in the dish. For some reason it's pairing with the apple created a bitter aftertaste that made this the one item I did not completely finish. All in all truly unique experience and one that is worth the drive to Folly Beach despite the distance. The staff is friendly, prompt, and handles a rush will on a busy Friday night for just two cooks and one bartender.

Such a great spot. A decidedly un-touristy feel and absolutely the best spot on Folly to grab a beer. Possibly your new favorite bar around Charleston if you like to hang out with nice people listen to a better than average jukebox.
